I bought a Blu ray player and I want to take advantage of the BD Live aspect feature. To do this the player has to have an internet connection. My internet access point is upstairs, and this player will be located downstairs. IS there some kind of gadget that works wirelessly that I can hook up the the Blu player and have it feed it the internet it craves?
I already have a wireless network set up for two desktops and one laptop. so that part is up and running already. I just don't know what gadget I need now to make this all work.
The Blu Ray player is a Panasonic BD55k if that matters any.
thanks.

What you guys want is a wireless bridge.
That link has a bunch of different options. It is basically a wireless receiver which bridges that WiFi connection to an ethernet port which you simply run a ethernet patch cable from the device to your BD player.// Panasonic AE8000 // Pioneer SC-57 // Polk Audio RTi A9 // Polk Audio CSiA6 //
// Polk Audio FXi A6 // SVS PB12-NSD Subwoofer // Logitech Harmony Ultimate // Pro-Ject Debut III //
// Oppo BDP-103 // Microsoft Xbox One Day One Edition // Sony Playstation 4 1TB SSHD // Nintendo Wii U //

I have the same Blu-ray player as you and have been looking at options myself. My wireless router is in the opposite end of the house and the signal strength to our family room is not strong enough to be reliable with a wireless bridge. I'm considering a powerline adaptor like this one: CorinexMcIntosh MA252 Integrated Amp, LUMIN D2 Network Music Player, Yamaha Aventage RX-A840 receiver, Emotiva XPA Gen3 2 channel amp, Polk LSiM 703 speakers. Oppo UDP-203 Blu-Ray player, Polk LSiM 705 speakers. Polk Signature S20 speakers.

You may want to look using the terms "wireless gamers bridge" or "wireless gaming adapter"
This is a very popular item for Xbox360 , PS3, etc.
They are also sometimes referred to as a wireless music bridge. -

You could always get an extender / repeater to use as well.If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
