Csi5 as Front mains???
I'm installing a 2.35:1 Wide 115" plus frame screen, and I need space up front.
I'm thinking to move my Rti8's to rear surround and.. Either 4 Rti6's up front Under my screen, or... buy 2 more Csi5's and Have total of three Csi5's across the front.
Yamaha HTR6190 receiver.
My HT room is 100% for watching movies only.

I would just go bookshelves for your front speakers (like the RTi6's) with a CSi5 center.
Center Channels are strong at a wide sweet spot, but imaging with another center is not what they were built for.
Just add one pair of RTi6's (for your front main speakers), keep your CSi5 as the center channel and move your RTi8's to the back if thats where you want them. (don't point them directly at you though....)
Enjoy,

Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms) -
One for bookshelves..one for try a pair of Csi5 ?
The csi 5 has 2 , 6.5" drivers and 1 tweeter, just like my Rti8's.
I thought they would be similar in performance and matching/balancing the sound.
I did just compare the two just now useing 2ch audio, Beauwulf DVD.
Sub off.
Test pattern sounds very different Rti8 deeper, more impact sounding.
On the movie itself..loud. Very hard to distinguish between the two.
Except if very loud the Csi5 will distort (wee bit) more than the Rti8
And the vent puffing a lot more air out of the Csi5.
The Rti8 was humming along wanting more the Csi5 was saying Enough.
However I don't have Rti6 to add in to comapre.
When I bought my 8's in Store. They were again more upfront than the 6's in Movies.
So which is better for bass, and mids, and clearity, and overall output.. Rti6 or Csi5 .....Or should I consider Tsi200's?
I actually thought the Csi5 was an acceptable option after listening.
But..I want what's best for my situation.
I hear LSi9 is just to different sounding to match up with my Rti8 and Csi 5. set up.
BTW.. this is with, (SVS PB12 Plus X2) for my sub.
Thanks for any input at all.. Much Appreciated !:) -
I would stick with the RTi or RTiA lineup. (not TSi or LSi)
Already gave my vote regarding the RTi5 over the CSi5 (especially if run at an 80hz or so crossover)
Good luck in your decision...Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)

I just turned my RTi8's on there side, masked the bottom of the rti8 bottom silver part.
Put it on my 15" high stage in front of my Pj screen... Looks like one LONG 10' speaker, and sounds the same as far as my ears can tell, they are on a 30 degree, upward direction and the Csi5 has the same exact cabinet width so they really look like one.
Wife was even impressed.
That solves that, and no buying two more centres.
Now..I will buy 2 used Rti6's for my rear surrounds and 2 Fxi5 for mid surrounds in my 7.1
If anyone has any to sell.
Thanks.
