I posted awhile ago after I snaged this bad boy off my local Craigslist. You guys were hollering for pics, well I finally figured that out. So here you go.
She's a beauty alright...dual mono, 300w/8ohm & oh baby does she ever sing!!!
There's more pics in the "test forum". The site wouldn't let me repost the same pics here in the electronis forum. Is there any way around that?

Clean design. I'm glad you're happy with it.
So how about a naked pic from below?

Easy, rename the pics and you can upload them again.
Nice looking amp. -
A few more pics of the Alpha VI amp. Plenty of power & finess...dual mono, 300w/8ohm. Sounds incredible.

That's not really naked. All the really good stuff is hidden. Its like that Nikko is wearing a bikini! I guess they have the real guts hidden below all those pretty facades.
Despite that, it does look like an impressively built piece. Nikko was under appreciated here in the US. They definitely had some top notch gear that would compete with anything out there during that era. -
Phil that's a beauty! You should take it apart and put it back together again and see if it improves the sound.:D

Gotta admit it's a lovely looking piece. You've certainly had it long enough to compare it against your other amps. Glad you like the sound and it moves you, that's what it's all about.
Enjoy

Not on your life!!!!
With my luck I'd take it apart & put it back together with a dozen or so parts left over. Not good!!!
Wait till you hear it on Sunday. -
Good deal pal.

What ever happened to Nikko?
I had some Nikko stuff in the mid-80's that was
pretty decent. When it went belly up, I got a HT amp.
That was when I knew that HT crap wasn't going to cut
it for 2 channel."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -

It took a lot of listening but in the end I prefered the Nikko Alpha VI over the Krell KAV 250a. Don't get me wrong, the Krell is one hell of a fine amp, but to my ears the Nikko was just as ballsy yet at the same time, more refined & musical. As far as looks go, the Nikko is simply gorgeous where the Krell is very blah. Not that that effects the sound any though.
I think system synergy played a large part here. And oh, those gorgeous meters are the cat's meow!! -

That's about as naked as it gets without performing major surgery. And, yep a lot of the good stuff is hidden.
