Came across this model pioneer for $150 in mint shape.
Is this a worthwhile upgrade from my Onkyo? First impression definitely says yes, as it has pre-outs for all channels, vs. my current Onkyo that has none.
From a processing standpoint, am i going to lose anything significant going to this unit?

Without looking into the specifics of the Pioneer (I have an Onkyo 505 myself and I think your 503 share almost everything with my receiver), I think your Onkyo should have more advanced processing than the Pioneer. On the other hand, I've heard many use the 811 (and its sister, the 911) as inexpensive pre/pro when system building. Personally, I'd use the $150.00 toward a current HT receiver. HT technology changes too fast to be stuck in the past. -

Works for me. It was mainly idle curiousity on my part. I'm hoping to be able to get the new Emotiva unit when it comes out.
