Someone really needs to experiment w/ using the granulated kind as stuffing in a speaker:

Pricey, but I bet you could get some cool results with it- completely kill the backwave in a tiny sealed box, for example.

It has great properties in terms of weight and heat resistance.
This does not mean it'll be good at dispersing sound energy. I'll stick to traditional stuffing(polyfill and fiberglass) for now. -
Audax has a line of drivers with an Aerogel cone, but I don't know if it is the same material.
