So, I just picked up a tilt today after some low life swiped my POS nokia just-a-phone. The browser seems to work OK, the GPS was dead on for the drive home but the sound quality, although better than the old nokia, is still kinda weak. It's such a hastle trying to understand some long winded conversation in a noisy place.

All I really want is a phone with superior sound quality like my 30 year old Bell Telephone kitchen land phone. Does anyone make such a phone??????

This is my quick impressions of the Tilt, after 4 days of activation:

Added 4GB of Micro SDHC card

Internet speed: Very fast on 3G, fast on EDGE
Push Mail feature: works great with Yahoo Email, Verizon personal, and Corporate Exchange Server
    Internet Messaging: Good
GPS: Google Maps is very close to spot on, and it's free
Keyboard: Adequate for my tiny fingers
ActiveSync: Downloaded MS Mobile Device Center, works out of the box and able to sync every contacts I have on my personal Outlook
Music: Good and comparable to iPod sound quality
    Video on Demand: Good
Bluetooth: Works as advertised, can have a maximum of 6 BT devices. Work with my BT Handsfree in my car
Applications: MS Mobile Word, Excel, and Powerpoint (come standard with the unit), work as advertised. IE is ok, will check out Opera Mobile as an alternative.

Overall Impressions: Pretty stoked and impressed of this mini laptop that can make calls.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

    Polkatese:
Glad you like the phone. Download Kaiser Tweak for the screen going blank problem with the Tilt.

The ATT forums are a great source of info.

Thanks, Paul. I have installed the tweak, and it looks like a keeper!

Greetings from humid and hotter than the hinges of the doors of hell kuwait.
I like my tilt, I got from the US, and yeah, I did pay good duckies for it, and yes, some software I can not use, but I tell you what, I have downloaded some freeware gps, and it works fine, let's face it, when you are going from point be to point oh hell where am I now, you must have a gps, and I have used mine and as I said before it does work well. I had a bit of a problem with the extreme sunglare that we get in these neck of the sands.....So, I got me a screen glare protector and it is cool now, I can see clearly...!!! Done and Dusted. I like it when I go to meetings and the Imates, and the Iphone's dudes look at me working on word mobile and using my keyboard, they go wot the BLEEEEEP!!?? But hey, to each its own, whatever gets the sand off your boots. WIFI works daboMB!! Plays my music very nice, and I can also use my finger to move from screen to screen....
    Cheers
