Receiver upgrade?

I was wondering if it would be worth upgrading my receiver from my current Onkyo HT-R540 to the Onkyo 605 or 606. I started out with the HTIB HT-S790 and upgraded to all polk speakers as you can see in my sig. The new speakers and sub have drastically improved sound. I am satisfied with my current setup but would be willing to upgrade if the difference is significant. Anyone familiar with this type of upgrade?
HT Setup: Onkyo 706; Rotel RB-1075; Rti A3; Csi A6; Fxi3's
2 CH: Squeezebox Touch; Dared SL-2000a; GoldenEar Triton 5 or Lsi9's; Parasound 2125; SVS SB12-NSD; Music Hall DAC 25.2

I was using the 605 at one point and think it is a great value. The question is what kind of improvement are you looking for? You would gain some nice features with the 605/6: hdmi, video upconversion, xm/sirius ready, a few new codecs. However, I'm not sure the about the sound quality improvement. I believe you have plenty of power for the mon 50's. Also, the 605/6 will not allow you to add an amp if you ever move up to power hungry speakers. In other words, the upgrade probably makes sense if the features are what you want. I'm just not sure you're going to hear much difference.
Btw, the 606 can be had for about $375 shipped these days so I would not go with the 605 unless you can get it for less than $300.MAIN: Polk Lsi9s; Polk PSW505; Lsic (in box); Onkyo SR-875; Parasound 2250; Cambridge Audio 740C; LG BD370

Go for the Onkyo 805 and be done with it for awhile. Nice AVR out there, and best bang for buck you can get at the moment. Also can be had for 500 buck price range.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!
