That's what my tech guy measured on the amp the destroyed my 3.2 tl recently.
The upstairs system is up and running thanks to some club Polk members. The amp will be repaired and returned to service.
Damage was done only to the right side speaker. The crossover survived and and left side SDA speaker is ok.

I'd recommend holding the line voltage going to your speakers to 110v ... maybe 115, but no more.
Ouch !
Which amp did you have driving the 3.1 tl ?Sal Palooza -

An older Bose 1800, it's rated at 250 wpm at 8 ohm. I guess it was tired.

Hmmm I wonder how this is possible. 140V going into the amp or out of the amp?
140V going into the amp = 140/8 17 amps into the speaker. Or 2400 watts.Receiver - Onkyo HT-R340
Front - Pioneer S-HF21
Center -Onkyo SKC-340C
Surround Back - Polk R15 <--Ticket to club polk
Subwoofer - Onkyo SKW-340 -
I bet it sounded badass while it worked.

The amp should be ready this evening. My tech guy found a service bulletin referring to this type of failure and the fix to prevent it. I'll get it done to my other 2 Bose 1801 amps.
He also serviced my SAE 2500 amp that was cutting out. Adding new binding posts, rca connectors and upgraded power cord.
