Can anyone suggest a back up hd-dvd player?

    Step up to the A30, it will output 1080P/24, the A3 doesn't. An A30 goes for about $100 shipped on ebay.

    How long ago did you send for them. I sent mine right before the cut off, still nuthen.

    I got my 5 pretty quickly (sent in December, received late January) but I called Toshiba a few times, too. I imagine they probably shut down operations since then. FWIW, I traded my A3 for an Oppo 980 because I was tired of it choking on mildly scratched CDs and didn't want to have two transports in my setup indefinitely.

    I am still waiting on 5 more. Life is good. I wanted the u2 hd-dvd , but didnot get it.
