Does anyone have any experience with th Samsung BD-UP5000 Blu-ray and HD-DVD Player? The last Samsung upconverter I had skipped horribly. I had a Sony that skipped as well. They both skipped regardless of the state of the CD.
If anyone has seen a review, I would like to see it.

there is review on avsforum.com on this player. Mine has been behaving pretty well so can't complain, no skipping. I bought mine when it was still premiumly priced, now you can get it as low as $300. Can't beat that, especially with Reon for SD-DVD.I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Polk, do you remember me as 'Paymontana'. I was at school for a while and then lost my Polk ID and all of my posts when I returned. I wish I could at least get my posts back so I could start selling some of my gear. The Samsung seems to be the way to go. I surely cannot see buying two units...lol. I wonder if Blue Ray will die out just as Sony's Beta did in the 80's?And I mean calling all cars, blackhawk down, mushroom cloud, Three Mile Island, lock the door behind you kind of mad.

i wouldnt be surprised if it did due to the difference in price between blu ray and dvd, especially since the economy keeps getting worst, but i think the price will go down once enough people start buying themreciever-Yamaha rxv1700

You would think that Sony would have learned after the Betamax incident of the 80's, or maybe they made enough profit of of original sales that they did care if it died out. Sony always has to do it there way. From what I remember, their early model digital cameras used a funky memory stick that was more expensive and slower.

Yep...that was when I had my first surgery and I was laid up for a long time. I have since been back to school and have an engineering degree. Now I am ready to revamp my HT.And I mean calling all cars, blackhawk down, mushroom cloud, Three Mile Island, lock the door behind you kind of mad.
