should I buy a hafler DH-500 for SDA-2b

I need a tempory amp and I can get the hafler for 300.00. Is it as good or close to the adcom GFA-555 amp. Im going to have a pair of 565 monoblocks repaired and its going to take a while.I buy the hafler and then put it on ebay after I have a chance to compare it to the monoblocks after I get them back.What do you guys think??

    Halfler will be warmer, but the Adcom has more detail. If you've done the Adcom, try the Hafler. It's built like a tank, won't lose any value, and it's something different. . and that's the fun part.

    the Hafler is beefy, sounds good (will definitly be warmer than the adcom (for me = good, for you....who knows)

    for 300, cant go too wrong as long as its in good shape and works. not many amps out there your getting better for that coin.

    i got 2 hafler dh500's biamping my AR9's, and I am not amp shopping anytime soon.

    someone correct me if i'm wrong but i remember reading somewhere about Hafler amps being "kit" amps. Maybe not all of them i guess but i'm sure i did read that somewhere. I passed on them cause i figured there could be issues stemming from someone doing a shabby job at putting it together. If i'm talking out my **** then someone tell me to shut the hell up.

    You are correct. Some (not all) Hafler amps were available as kits. I have a Hafler
    DH-220 that I got at a garage sale for $30.00 that sounds fantastic. I opened it up and if it was a kit the person did a fantastic job of building it. Nice warm sound. Best $30.00 I ever spent.

    I lost on the bidding at the last second.So Im sending my adcom 565s to jersey city to a place that still fixes adcoms.The place 30 min down the road from me informed me yesterday they no-longer service adcoms.Even though last week the secretary said they do.Its costing me a too.(375.00+ for both) I tried to win a GFA-5800 but it went for 560.00+60.00s&h.Too much for me.

    Grab an older B&K, or the Hafler. Love the Adcoms for the money, but switching it up with something a bit warmer put a smile on my face for a bit. There's plenty of quality gear out there.
