Don't waste your money.
This movie is not very well written at all. It takes about 30-45 minutes before you halfway figure out what the hell is going on, then it still really never explains some of the stuff that is happening.
It has some interesting special effects and some neat scenes in it; but they alone are not worth the price of admission. I guess from seeing the trailers I was expecting more from this movie. What was really disappointing was I was thinking this was going to be a scary movie kind of like a Resident Evil where the buddies hunting run across a secret govt. base or project or whatever that has gone way wrong. Needless to say it wasn't scary at all, I won't go into anymore detail in case some is planning on making the mistake of going to see this movie.
At least the day wasn't a total waste. I did finally get to watch The Ring DVD that I had bought about 3 weeks ago.

Hey, i liked that movie. It had a good storyline.... I do think that its much better when you resd the book though. And I dont know what you meen by saying you didnt understand the first 30 mins. i found it pretty basic. overall i thought it was a good movie, I recomend this movie to anyone interested in extra terrestrial activity or science fiction.

I'll be checking this out on dvd for sure.
Could not imagine this movie being THAT bad. Sci Fi/Horror - I'm there.
Anyway did not even mention the "Animatrix" flick - may have made the trip worth alone. -
Maybe it's better if you read the book first, to me there were just too many holes that weren't filled in...

Well the book pretty much left you in the dark the first 200 pages too. You had no clue what was going on.
Don't get me wrong the book was excellent. And not knowing what was going on is what made it such a good read. Thats why i cannot wait to see the movie.
I have heard good and bad, but count me in on seeing it. -

THis is a review from the DUke student paper. I don't know what's scarier, the fact I was on a Duke web site trying to find an article about one of the players smoking dope, or the fact that I actually agree with them on this movie.
