Just bought a new CDP

Sold my CA Azur 840C for $1,100 and bought a Raysonic CD128. Why? Because the Raysonic just sounds better in my system. With all the solid state gear in my system nowadays the warmth of the tubes brings my system to the kind of sound I find most gratifying.
That is all. Carry on.

Holy crap Mike, I think the average time you hold on to your gear is now 23 days max.
I call dibs on the 2x4 speakers, they should be on the FM in about a week....:)

I think I had the CA for about 4 or 5 months?

Oh man, you won't see me giving up these speakers any time soon. This time I mean it. I swear. I'm setting this system up to be the end all for a while. -
That's part of the fun of this hobby; try as much gear as you can while you can

Right on Brother, I have the Raysonic CD 168 running with two NOS Jan 6922 and it sounds awesome. I hope you enjoy yours as much I am enjoying mine. BTW I'm burning in a set of MIT Shotgun S3 IC on the 168 and they even add more to the awesome sound.
EDIT: I tried all different tubes on it and so far I love what I currently have in it (THANKS BEARDOG) and the Electro Harmonex 6922 golds sound pretty damned good too. -
Sorry to hear that.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Hey Joe; why two tubes? Is it because they say two tubes are for the balanced and two for the RCA outputs? Someone in Audiogon said this is NOT true, at least for the CD-128. I emailed Raysonic about this but never got an answer. But if it sound good....just leave it

That's like being flashed by Jessica Alba and then told to carry on.
That thing's gorgeous. -

The two outer tubes are for the single ended and the two inner tubes are for the balanced. The 128 and 168 look identical in every way. -
I wish I was Mike's audio dealer, I would be able to retire...
Good luck with the Raysonic, it looks awesome. P.S. Why did you sell your Rogue tube preamp?

I actually bought all my gear used until recently. I bought the Rogue used. That was an awesome piece, but in the end I just wanted to move on. The Rogue sacrificed quiet backgrounds for great sound. I wanted my cake and to eat it as well. And as you know my friend there is always something better. Until recently I never really found the realism and quality of sound I was looking for.
I have nothing to back this next statement up, but I will guarantee that I am going to have my current system for far longer than my previous ones have lasted. -

Man, why am I gettin' crap from you guys? Is this a right of passage or something? I can think of a few members with far greater equipment replacement records than me.
Basically, I was looking for my sound. Before I only found pieces. Now, I really believe I have it. I'm betting I stay with this stuff for atleast 2 months  -
This CD player design looks so beautiful and built like a tank. Let us know how it sounds... Congrats..

Congrats Mike. Nice for sure.Michael

In the beginning, all knowledge was new!

Guys,
This CDP is unbelievable. Not only is the construction top of the line, but the sound is just unreal. All the details and sonic purity that I loved about the 840C are here, but the Raysonic has this warm silky presentation that just has me putting CD after CD in.
That is all, -
Very Nice! :cool:Rogue Audio stereo 100 tube amplifier - Lector Zoe preamplifier with 6H30 pi's
.Audience AU24SE speaker and ic cables- Chord Qutest DAC - Black Cat Silverstar II 75ohm digital cable-Tyler Acoustics Linbrook Signature system with large bass cabinets to accommodate 10" Seas magnesium woofers.

Glad you're enjoying it. That Raysonic player is very well regarded. Nothing like matching things up & finding that synergy that is oh so important. Rock on bro!!!

Other than that, congrat's. I might have one once I get my ears on one......~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -

Maybe we should start a countdown thread and we can have a pool to see who wins?
