The ST series is one of my favorites from B&K.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I can't believe this thing is still sitting there for sale. Someone should jump on this. ESPECIALLY someone who has some LSi speakers who's running them on a RECEIVER. :)

damn, this would match my ST-1430II perfectly, but I don't have room for two amps on that stand.

This is a good deal for polkies looking for more power than their receiver can offer. I've owned 5 different B&K amps, all are/were great.

How's this compared to a Carver M1.5t/M1.0t?

Powering a pair of LSi15s..

I've never owned a carver so I'm not sure how it would compare. I know Carver is well liked by their specific user group, but other than that, not much I know about them.

You were the second person to contact me last night, SKsolutions being the first. I just PM'd SKsolutions back so soon as I hear from him I will let you know.

I know it's already sale pending, but I'm a post hizzo and actually have some knowledge.

In my opinion, having owned several model stereo amps from each company, including Carver TFM-6s, M-1.5t, M-4.0t, B&K st-140, st-202, st-1430II, st-125.2. . .

I can say that I prefer the B&Ks with regards to their superior build quality, reliability, lack of turn on/off "pop," fact that they are still a company with support (albeit not exceptional support), more engaging sound, etc.

Carvers are good if you have some very inefficient speakers and/or want a helluvalot of watts for little money.

I know it's sale pending, but I would love to buy if something doesn't go through. I'm still new, but this would be a really nice addition to my setup. Send me an email if it's available, and I'll shoot payment over quickly. Thanks. gebby44 @ gmail.com

Thanks BD, and BL.
Good to meet someone local, and nice to get to play some different gear. Mark has a nice setup.

The B&K is playing now. First impression:
More bottom end control than the GFA 555, more slam. Top is still there and very present, but not as forward from the mid on up. Mids seem fuller or rounder but not as present or pronounced. The amp seems to work well with the combination of cables, C.A. front, and LSi9's. There is a HK in the mix as the pre, but using the analog out, it's just a switch and attenuator. I don't really hear it, but maybe it's time for a separate pre with bypass. I'll be hanging on to the B&K for a month or two, and will offer it in the forum for what I paid for it.

The adcom & the B&K, may both be on the chopping block if I find the next step up sooner rather than later. Candidates, Belles 150 or 350, Classe CA200, B&K 200.2 v2, Marsh A400

Thanks Mark, and nice digs!
