Up for sale are my high efficiency Fostex Back loaded horns, built to the 138" Line length specs here:
http://www.zillaspeak.com/bib-fostex.asp
This design was originally done by Terry Cain & was refined by Martin J King. Mine are done in .75" MDF covered in truck bed liner & the fronts are faced w/ .5" birch (on top of the MDF). Bases have carpet spikes & these are surprisingly stable for their height.
I've got the original boxes for the Fostex drivers, specs & info here:
http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=272&osCsid=7f5cdf6f7d3bab95778964ec48b9772f
I've driven these with just 2 watts and that's all it takes!
I'm looking for $300 (the cost of the drivers), obviously no shipping, but I'll deliver in the NC RDU area and make it out to Winston-Salem on occasion.

Pics... PM if you want to see anything else. BTW, I had a wide angle lens on there, so that's why they look bent.
Total height is just a hair over 6 feet; base foot print is 10" x 11"; width is more like 8.5" at the driver height.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

That 8 watt Radii would be perfect for them.... make me an offer- the wife wants them out of the house and I don't want the guilt of pulling the drivers and throwing away the cabinets.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

Drivers listed on Ebay, free shipping for Polkies. Drop me a PM if you're in RDU & interested in the boxes- you can have 'em free, if the high bidder isn't local. They're optimized for the sigmas, but they'll work pretty well with most the fostex 6" drivers and Jordan JX-92s...

Man I want these speakers BAD!!!!!!!
I'm in the market for something just like this. I would build them myself but I don't have ability at the moment.
Who wants to pick these for me and deliver them for me? I'd pay and provide sleeping arrangements for the person...
Oh well. Probably not going to happen..
Good luck with your sale. If I had a truck I would be there this weekend.
Nick -
You know what.
My Mom lives in Suffolk, VA. She might be able to pick them up for me.
Sending PM:)

If you haven't pimped out a family member over this hobby....you aren't that into it.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Do you need a ride? We can road trip it? Let me know, we'll work it out. -

Seriously? That would be so much better.
She was going to have sit on them until her significant other could build some caskets to ship them in. Which was going to cost me big in the end... But what some people won't do for this hobby.
I'll send you a PM in a moment.

If you guys are thinking about coming down this weekend, you should definitely try to time it so you can watch the UNC game on Franklin street. All the bars will be full, so make sure you get there a few hours early.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

That actually sounds like a lot of fun.
But I don't think we are going to make the drive. Its a lot further than we both anticipated. About 18 hours round trip. We was wanting to do it in a day. But it doesn't look feasible. I would have to get a hotel for the night. Which just wouldn't make sense compared to the price of the speakers. It would be cheaper to have my mom pick them up and have them shipped... I think... I still need to do some research..
If I wasn't so tight on money right now I would go for it. Since you mentioned the game and I am rooting for NC at the moment. It would be a lot of fun. But I just don't think I can swing it...
But who knows. Starnger things have happened.:)

Normally I'd let ya crash in the spare bedroom, but we'll be packing everything up & it's too crazy here for that. Did not think my place would sell so fast.... (9 days, I think the market might be making a turn in this part of the state).
I'll see if I can get a better estimate of the weight.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

I did the calculations figuring them to be 80lbs a peice. They probably don't weigh this much.
But I think its better to over calculate.
I think I'm looking at around $250-$300 to ship from VA.
So I don't know what I am going to do yet. I'm going to get them here one way or another. i just don't know how yet..
The bad thing is I bought another pair of speakers the day before I bought these. If I had that money I might have been able to afford the trip.
I'm going to start FS thread in a bit to try and raise funds to get these here..

Yep. She does.:)
They got lost so she was pretty frustrated. GPS couldn't seem to find you. A 5 hour trip turned into 10.
Can't wait to get them. I think I'll probably fly down and spend the weekend with her and then have them drive me back...
Thanks again. She said they look great.
