New set up but old receiver - too bright!

I just bought a set of RtiA5's, RtiA1's, Velodyne dps12, and waiting for my CsiA6. Also picked up some 12 gauge speaker cables from Blue Jeans and a sub cable. Problem is my receiver sucks(I think) It's a Yamaha HTR 5750 95w x 6. The sound is really bright and makes my ears tired after listening. I want a warmer sound. When I adjust the treble it helps a bit but it seems to degrade the sound quality. I like the features of the Yamaha just not the sound quality.
If I was to upgrade to the Yamaha rx-v1800 would I get a warmer sound?
Anyone have this set up?
Can anyone recommend a receiver that's is available in Canada that might give me the sound quality I'm looking for? I'm not interested in shipping from the states. My budget is probably under $1300. I am also interested in HDMI switching.
I have amps in mind but I want to get a good receiver for these speakers first.
Thanks in advance. Love this forum!

There is a Pioneer Elite VSX-94TXH in the FM right now... For $1000. Nice warmer receiver. Awesome HDMI setup too."People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." George Orwell

I have never owned a Yamaha but if I remember right from others that they do make the Rti's very bright. So,another Yamaha would probably be a bad idea. Have you thought of separates? At that dollar amount you should be able to do well.

Harman Kardon is known for having a slightly warm sound. i think Yamaha and Oinks have a rep of being a bit bright with some speakers.
Good luck! if you have pre-outs on that avr, you can add a separate amp for just a few hundred bucks.Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand
Bedroom: Samsung HPR-4252, Toshiba HD-A2, HK 3480, Signal Cable, AQ speaker cable, Totem Dreamcatchers, SVS PB10-NSD, URC MX-850 -
I recently upgraded my speakers from R30s to the monitor 60s with my yamaha 5740 and the sound was awful. Very harsh and bright. I upgraded my receiver to the marantz sr-7001 and the change was obvious. The sound was so much more neutral. With your speakers it will probably sound 10x better. You may want to consider marantz , especially if you listen to a lot of music. Hope this helps, good luck.

You might want to audition a newer Yamaha. Yamaha changed there sound back around the RX-V1600 (for the better). It's a lot more musical and 'thicker' with a slightly darker character. I think you'd be surprised by the sound actually as many on this forum would be. Dynamically it probably can't be beat, the Pioneer would come close.

there still might be a HK in the FM which is at a killer price as long as you don't need HDMI inputs

Thanks for the advice. I definitely will try to audition a new Yamaha. After all I really do like the features and the way it operates.Front - RtiA5's
