I have a Polk PSW650 in my TH. It just stopped working. The green light goes on but I get NO bass out of the sub.

I used it on Monday with no problems.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated,

TIA

Mike

Check for a blown fuse - probably around 3 or 4 amps.

Check your AVR for a spontaneous settings change (i.e., sub is now set to no/off).

Check for a loose or disconnected sub cable.

    Dr. Spec,

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked 2 & 3 and they are OK.

I looked in the Instructional Manual that came with the sub and there is no mention of a fuse. Can you provide more info?

    Thanks again,

    Mike

First try a speaker level connection to the sub from the mains output. Set the mains to large and the sub to off/no and connect one of the mains leads to the sub and see what happens.

Re: the fuse - some plate amps have a fuse - I don't know about the 650 in particular.

I spoke w/ Polk customer service today (3/3/03). They talked me through trouble shooting the problem. It came out that one (1) of the drivers was not working. So, off to CA for a replacement.

Dr. Spec, thank you for your assistance.
