Separate amplification is highly recommend(almost a must) to make those sing.
Grats on the purchase. -
The only one I could recommend would be B&K. Mine runs an LSi HT system just fine. You really should consider separate amps.DKG999

I am new in this area. What is separate amplifier? Does it mean I need to have an amplifier between the receiver and the speaker?
-
Yes. You would use the pre-outs on your receiver to drive a separate amplifier that powers your speakers. You must have a receiver with pre-outs for all channels. You can use a separate amplifier for your front/center, and use the receivers internal amps for the surround channels if you want.DKG999

Just make sure the amp is rated to 4 ohms and you ideally get 200 watts per channel (WPC). I love my Sunfire but it's a bit of coin.My Main Gear

What Watts do I need for the amplifier? Do I need amplifier only for the front speakers?
-
It is best to get a minimum of 200 watts per channel with the LSI's. What does the rest of your speakers & system consist of? If you have other LSI's then all should be amped since all are 4ohm speakers.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

Maybe it is stupid to ask the question. But, Can an Onkyo TX-SR805 do the job? It says "Certified 4ohms performance" ....
-
All that means is that it limits the power to the speakers so that the receiver doesn't burn itself out.
It does have preouts so get separate amplification.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -
It seems local stores like circuitcity, bestbuy do not provide too much choices of amplifiers. Where can I buy separate amplifiers? The local stores have lots of car audio amplifiers. What is the difference between the car audio amplifier and the amplifier we are talking about here. Are the car amplifiers just low performance ones?
Are power and THD the two major parameters I should care when I choose an amplifier? I checked Sunfire website. Their amplifiers (TGA5200, TGA7200) only specify THD for 8 ohm at 1KHz (0.5%). No spec. for 4 ohm. I remember I read somewhere on polk web that THD should not be larger than 0.5%. Are these amplifier good enough? -
The outlaw website specifies their amplifiers (2200 M-block, 7200) THD for 4 ohm, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, <0.05%. Are they better on paper?
Could you recommend any other brand of amplifiers? Thanks, -
Outlaw, Rotel, Parasound, Sunfire, B & K, Adcom...the list is endless. You can get more bang for your buck getting a used one from Audiogon.
All of these companies make terrific products, you can't go wrong with any of them.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2
