Hi, my local craigslist has an ad for a pair of 80's Polks, described thusly:

LSDA-SR5-5076, Walnut encased w/black speaker covers...Each has 2 woofs, 8 tweets, and 16 mid-range. 63 1/2 h x 23 w, 2 people needed to move one - Approx. 190lbs each..

Can anyone here help out with more information? Maybe he typed SR5 for SRS?

Thanks,
Tubino

Welcome to the forum. Yes, SRS, could be the original SRS, the 1.2's or 1.2 TL's. All great speakers. Though the drivers he mentions are total for two speakers, not for each.

How can I tell if they are 1.2 or 1.2TL's? And is there a big difference in value or sonics? I'm going to try to look them over tomorrow.

For very large speakers they are not particularly effiicient, right? Low 90s?

I was cruising the Springfield, Jeff City, and Columbia craigslists, and came across those, too.

Yup, that's the ad. I'm going over to look at them this morning. I assume after talking to te seller that they are the original SRS, and not the 1.2 or 1.2TL. I'm green as grass on this stuff, so can anyone fill me in on the differences, and the value? As the ad states, he wants $1,500 for the pair.

Face, guess what I learned. PM replies are not available till I post 10 posts.

I just looked at them. I think they are working correctly, but they aren't in perfect condition. The wood has some issues, there are a couple of tears in the fabric, but...

I called the guy back, and I BOUGHT THEM!

Congrats bro. I'd love to hear your impressions vs. your Tannoys.

Did anyone else catch the "Each has 2 woofs, 8 tweets, and 16 mid-range"?
