Toshiba HD-XA1 or HD-A2

So I bought an HD-A2 from CC last week. I found a used XA1 on Craigslist (bought new last month), and I was wondering what everyone's take would be? Should I return the A2 and get the A1? He's asking $249 plus a Transformers HD DVD, and I paid the same for the new A2. Is it really the same player? I have only component...NO HDMI so no upscaling on SDVD for me.

Insight and opinions would be really appreciated.

    Ethan, the XA1 HANDS DOWN!

    (Now, time for full disclosure....)

    I am the Craigslist goon.

Now on to my second thought.... A fellow Polker on here from Boise??? Sweet! We need to get together, maybe when I bring you my XA1!

PS, I can give you more info via PM. Again, good to see a fellow forum member from Boise.

We need to get together, I actually haven't ever heard any older polks than my original set of RT55s. I would love to hear your speaks with the Parasound gear. I looked at the 5125 classic at Sight and Sound by Design a while back.... It was just too far out of my price range. Looks like you are an SACD guy, that is something I have been wanting to try out since I got my PS3.

I'd say go with XA1, judging by your TV (720p/1080i). You'll get advantage of analog sound outputs too.

I own both and prefer the XA1. Better upconversion, better looking, better build quality, a straight up sexy player.

The HD-A2 is good as well, but not as impressive. It's slim and sleek like most budget DVD players.

So for a brand new one, HD-XA1 that is, is $300 a decent price?

If you can do without the little bells and whistles you can get an A1 for around $100 and the A1 and XA1 are basically the same players.
