Any idea what this Sony might be worth? :D

Ok, my very first electronic/speakers were purchased from Sam's Club an all in one package (literally, where all the components are stuck together CD/Tuner/Cassette/Receiver) 5 disc CD changer, 100 Watts per speaker, SONY deal... man... back in the day I thought it was the shizzle!

I probably got it 10 years ago, and paid $500 even for it... any idea if it's worth anything these days? The speakers sound good for what they are... and have a 12" woofer and a mid and tweeter... I was hoping they could fetch a Franklin still, but wasn't sure... I'll get some pictures up... and I can't find any Model Number online for it... anyways...

Thought I'd try here.

Cheers!

this is just in general terms and certainly may not apply to your Sony system.

in general a component system loses it's value pretty fast over time. a 10 yr old system while may have cost $500 new usually doesn't bring in that much dinero today. Reason being, sometimes they have connections that can only be used together as a system.. meaning you may not be able to use the tuner separate from the pre/amp/receiver. That would bug me.

I see systems listed on Craigslist all the time. you may want to check there for other systems to be able to price your's accordingly.

Alot of times the speakers are the weakest link in these all in one systems. I see them all the time at second hand stores.

finding the model number on your system is key to be able to find out how much it could sell for.

either way. good luck with your sale.. maybe there is a college or high school student in your area who would be looking for a complete system like yours. :)

http://kansascity.craigslist.org/ele/452241452.html with pictures in case anybody cares... still sounds pretty good for a little Sony :D

don't take this this the wrong way.. but it's kind of frowned upon in here to list links to your own sales, like on Craigs or Ebay. i'm not a mod, and i don't make the rulz. other's have caught fire for it in the past

It is scary the reference priced unit was from three years ago.

I would think 100-150 most. They make mini systems that probably have just as much power and quality.

Actually, i wasn't selling anything here. I've been around for plenty long... and if I wanted to sell and ship something here it would have been posted in the FM. I was tired, and didn't want to get the pictures off my wife's computer and upload them here... so I posted a link. I'd think that would be fairly clear that I wasn't offering it here... or seeking buyer's here...

But whatever. Just looking for idea's on what it might be worth.

And Joe, I haven't heard much in a boom/box small system type that can touch the sound. Like I said, it's pretty impressive for it's size and two speakers.

I think you missed the point.. if one person provides links to their auction's on another website.. everyone will want to do it. One nice thing about selling and buying items here, is that good deals can take place without being charged fees like THOSE auction sites charge.

I know you weren't selling anything here. you got that part right.. the problem is advertising your item for sale on another site.

seems like i'm the only one kind of bugged by it.

either way. your link is down now. so problem solved.
