i just purchased a laptop today and well i do know quite a bit about computers except for one thing.. will a power interver (one that plugs into a cigarette lighter) do any harm to a laptop since its a modified sine wave and considering it has sensitive components? i dont really wanna be the first to blow a shiny new laptop out in that manner :) i know this sounds rather noobish :P just being carefull

No harm done. I've used my laptop for 3 years as a gps laptop with no issues whatsoever.

Been doing it for years as well...no problems whatsoever. Just be sure to purchase one with enough capability watt wise for your laptop...I had to purchase a larger unit when I went mobile with my monster 17" Dell XPS with its Nvidia power hungry video card...other then that enjoy :)
