Which model are these and what is fair value without SDA cable. They appear to be in good to excellent condition. Thanks, Jeff

    The are Polk SDA's.

I think these are just SDA 2's Russ. 2 tweeters, 2 stereo drivers. I think the 2A and 2B each had only one stereo driver. $100 is a good price, but if you're buying, you can't buy a better speaker for less than $400 or $500. Blade/Blade Cables are available from Polk for about $30.

Here we go with the tweeter thing agian and he does not even own them yet. I rest my case. How about this. Buy them. I believe thay are SDA2As Listen to them for awhile and see if you like them . If YOU find the high end to much then get the RDO194s .

2nd generation SDA 2's. A couple franklins or less is a good deal.

P.s. Not 2A's if I'm reading the compendium correctly

Ok I could be wrong. I thought it went like this. (If there is a 2C then these would be 2 Bs)
We have the SDA2 with two silver faced SL1000s and three mid drivers.
Then the SDA2A with two SL2000 and three mid drivers
Then the SDA2B with one SL2000 and just two mid drivers

They look like the SDA 2's that are on page 15 in the Compendium. Is that the ones you were thinking of too, h9? Definitely not 1st generation.

Well the 2A's could either have 3 driver or 2 drivers depending on when they were manufactured. There maybe a discrepancy in the compendium but more likely it was a change over model.

There is a picture labeled as SDA 2A that has 2 drivers (3rd generation pg 17) but in the written descriptions there is no mention of a 3rd gen 2A with only 2 drivers.

    Yes, going by photo's. Page 17 shows an SDA 2A w/ 2 drivers. Either it's a typo or a transistional model. That's why I state 2nd gen SDA 2.

P.s. They are 2nd or 3rd gen SDA 2's the letter desination doesn't really matter in this case.......I guess

Yep, that's what I was talking about, and why I initially stated they weren't SDA 2A's, but they could be if they were 2nd generation. All too confusing for me. Aaron needs to get those from you.

The Compendium is THE best guide to SDA you can get in regards to vintage Polk Audio. That said, it cannot possibly cover the mutants that occured from stock/driver decisions along the way. There is some product that went out the door based on what was on the shelf.....dude, it's the 70's and 80's.

The Monitor line is as much, all over the place, in regards to driver compliment and construction.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
