Most of the damage is around the output transistors and the diodes above it. You should really check your speaks to make sure there is no damage. A guess would be diode and thermistor, then output transistor(s). Not good.
I'd ask them to send me the channel, and keep the amp at home. . . in the smoking section of course:D

the speakers did make a slight pop when all this happened. If they are f'ed up I wonder if sunfire would be responsible? I doubt it but it would be worth a try. It was there amp that sent the signal to the speakers. But oh well. if they are fried the that gives me the need to UP GRADE. looks like B&W or Paradigm next time.

My concern is that when there is a short near the output stage, it sometimes indicates DC current, and that is deadly to speaker voice coils and some crossovers. You can do a basic test with a 9V battery to see if the coils are fried or not, positive to positive should push the cone out, reverse should push in. Maybe borrow an AVR from someone to check it out. Hopefully, it was so quick, there is no damage.

I'm still hooking everything up.. But here is what it took to fix this thing..
they replaced all the amplifier PC boards,Blown Mosfet on the downconverter pc board, They updated the amp to current spec. Burned-in the amp for 3days and repeated all test to make sure everything was A.O.K. LoL
    Parts list went like this..
1 Single Channel amp PC board
3 Dual Channel amp PC boards
    1 IRF 640 Power Mosfet
    6 15k ohm 2v resistors
1 12k ohm SMC? (I can't read there writing.) Resistor.

You aren't supposed to let the smoke out of electronic equipment. Amps always seem to work best when the smoke stays on the inside.

Never..EVER let the smoke out of anything electrical....bad ju-ju.

OK, here is a update. I got everything hooked up and fired up the rig. I don't know what sunfire did to this amp but there is a whole new found luv for my system!!!!!!! I don't know if it is because i was lost with out it for so long, but all I can say is "WOW!!!!". I almost forgot what the SvS sounded like and those damned old LSi9!! Good thing is when I had my little pyro show it didn't kill the speakers.
Well guys I had to let you know that I got off my lazy butt and finally hooked it all up..
    Good night to you all!
