Binding posts on Old SDA's

Is it just me or does anyone find it difficult to mount the spades from the PS Audio line of speakers cables onto the binding posts of the SDA's? The binding plate is recessed into the cabinent, making it almost possible to get a straight on, flat mount of the spade onto the post. Banana's are the only thing that has worked for me.

Since cables don't make a difference, maybe I should wrap some micromotor stator wire (like from a 1/64 motorized road race car) around the posts and forget about it.

Yes they are narrow, and bananas don't mount deep either.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Those binding posts are sub-standard, therefore I've replaced all of mine.

Jesse, you bring up a good point and an idea. I have replaced my originals with Vampires, I know some folks like Cardas better, but I believe they have a similiar problem. There is a long shank on binding post which would be inside of the cabinents. Using a spacer, Like a hollow, hard plastic tube (cut to fit, or about six nuts mounted on the binding post on the outside of the mounting plate would extend the the binding post above the recessed area. I'm going to play around with that.

Sal, those Monster spade connectors work okay, but I'm using the large PS Audio wire.

Carl, you could also try bending the flat spade creating a slight angle. I had to do that on something I owned at one time, it worked very well.
