Hi everyone. I was just curious as to what you guys think about the comparisons between the SDA 1 series and the newer Polk LSi15. How do they "stack up" against each other?

I haven't been able to listen to the LSi15, but I'm sure some of you guys have.

Do the vintage Polks hold their own against the LSi15 for overall sound quality, or ...

Regards,
Ron W

That is kinda like comparing a 1970 Chevelle SS 454, with a 2007 Corvette Z06.

Two very beautiful, but very different beasts. It's a matter of taste...

I have both SDA 1C's and LSi15's, and while the soundstage on the SDA is better I prefer the overall sound of the LSi's. Both are great speakers.

it's like comparing red delicious apples with yellow delicious apples..

both are apples, but they look and taste slightly different.. but both are apples right?

same with SDA and LSi speakers... one is big and wide, one is tall and narrow, but they both play music, but differently.

Apples and Oranges really. For me it would depend on whether it's a 1A, 1B, 1C. I just recently sold my LSi 9's because I prefered my 1C's. The one plus the LSi's have is that wonderful Vifa tweeter. The RD0's are a close second.

To be fair my 1C's have about $400-500 in mods and they are just as laid back as the LSi's. I'd say if the SDA 1's are stock and have the sl2000 tweeter I'd give the edge to the LSi line. The SDA 1C's do bass so much better, more accurately (no bloat). But again they both do things a bit differently and it's really impossible to compare them one on one.

It also depends on your gear, that can make a huge difference especially with the LSi's. I also believe the 1C's are the gems of the line.
