Hi all-

Wondering if a rear center channel would be effective if placed on the back wall, well above
the listeners head, at the same height as the
rear surrounds.
I could move the wall behind my sofa back,
I own a chainsaw.
Or, although Tim the toolman Taylor wouldn't agree,
I could move the sofa forward and put a shelf or table behind the sofa.

Yes, my girlfriend is actively seeking a therapy group for me.
My name is luc and I'm an audioholic

Unless your speakers have the bipole/dipole switch functions that you can actually set those speakers to the side of your sofa, it is better for these speakers to place behind the sofa, if the speakers do not have the above functions, the ideal position is to place them at the ear level.:)

    Peterng-

My surrounds are fx500i's so they have it.
The rear center is a cs400i, so it does not.
I guess I'll be sitting a little closer to the screen, to accomodate the rear center on a shelf
    behind the sofa.
