Seems to be more foam area, than cone area.

He also wants $92 shipping, at least to MI.

I'm assuming these are some of those infamous smoking subs from Polk, less the plate amp.

    Yeah but you get two.:)

    Looks like $52 to Oklahoma.

Unfortunately he makes no guarantee that the drivers work nor has he state that the drivers been tested...be a pain to have to return those and eat up the massive shipping cost.

If anyone is interested I made an offer of $100 and was countered with $ 150 + ship, so they can be had cheaper than the bin price. Seller also mentioned that he had a $75 dollar option that was more cosmetically challenged than the others.....I’m still waiting for pics on that unit.

Northern MI. Maybe you are closer to a UPS hub.

I'm under the bridge, Some would call it central, others would call it northern, just depends on where you are from. I'm in Au Gres(45 min. north of Bay City, hour south of Oscoda, 45 min south east of West Branch). I've got 2 ups hubs with in an hour of me.

Has anyone replaced the 10 inch drivers in the PSW1000 with anything better?

Ummm...I HIGHLY doubt anyone has done this. Plus, the enclosure is built specifically for the 10" drivers it comes with. The cutout plus the tuning would probably have to be different. To sum it up, TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. ;)

Meh $77 + $150 shippin still not worth it. Add an amp that may or may not fit for another $200 and the cost would be over $400 for something that may or may not work. I've seen used ones go around $400

True it may not be for everbody...but in my case $150 + $58 shipping, a piece of wood painted black, a few wood screws and some silicone and I've got a nice looking (from the front, top, and sides) passive sub capable of 20 Hz, (according to the Polk website) for around $215.
Power it up with a cheap stereo or mono amp (Garage sales, Goodwill, E-bay)
and you might be under $300 depending on what you can find or have laying around.

I'm going to wait another week or two and try that $100 offer again.

First, this box is probably tuned in the high 30s. -3db is 30hz not 20. It's a waste of time. Get a Rythmik kit if you want sealed 20hz...better driver and amp...just have to build the box.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers

    .

I got one for $158.58 shipped, a few light scuffs on the top as described by the seller. All in all I'm very pleased with the looks and build quality of the unit.

I picked up a Bash 500W digital sub amp on sale at P.E. for $159 shipped to power the sub, but haven't found the time to mate the two.

The Bash has gone up in price, but still reasonable. Does the Bash fit on the subs? I checked the dimensions and it doesn't seem to be a good match

It's not a slide in and bolt up, I'll have to make a mounting plate to fit the opening on the sub then cut that out for this amps dimensions.

I could not pass on the amp at the sale price.

The electronics on the back of this amp are exposed, no housing, which sucks, but I'll remedy that when I put the mounting plate together.

Yeah but it may be a while before I get to mess with it, I'm currently in the middle of tearing out a large stand up shower.

would you happen to have the cutout size on those. I won a few amps on ebay but don't know if they'll fit correctly.

It’s a recessed hole for flush mounting your amp
    10.5 x 10.5.

    The actual hole is 10 x 10.

I measured the amp to the inside edge of the gasket to be 11 inches wide, I will have to trim the enclosure cut out if I want to mount the amp to it. I may just seal the enclosure cut out and stick the amp in a cabinet.

I’m ready to get on it......Damn that leaky shower!

I staring at both the PSW1000 and the 500 bash. Doesn't fit very well at all. I don't know if I can bring myself to cut that incredible black finish..
