I just watched Lasareath's new YouTube video about the cone excursion on his SRSs and it put a tear in my eye. I would hope that some of the distortion heard was from the camera, but that kind of excursion in classic SRS drivers can't be good at all. Supposedly it looks cool, but something like that does not look good to me when I know what it is doing to the life, and the internals of a speaker. I have learned that hip-hop music is not particularly kind to speakers with its over-emphasized bass. So please classic speaker lovers, don't ruin or damage your speakers. They are not indestructible and replacement parts are becoming harder to find. I know that people have to right to do whatever they want with whatever they have, but please respect your speakers; for us and them.

(If you haven't seen the video)

it's the mic on the camera. If you notice when he backs away from the speaks the distortion level drops.
