Busted Tweeter

Hello all,

I bought a pair of RT 400s back in '98. Liked them so much I brought them all they way back to my place in India after college in the US.

PROBLEM: Drunk guest knocked over one my speakers on New Year's Eve :( Top corner of the speaker box is damaged a little. After opening the speaker I found the tweeter magnet separated from the cone. Is this okay? Everything else looks okay. I reassembled the speaker, the tweeter magnet almost crushed my little finger as it re-engaged with the cone. But now I get a nasty vibration/crackle (naturally).

I'd like to know if any kind of super glue has to be used to fasten the tweeter assembly? While opening the tweeter I found a copper grease type paste on there.

Since there are no known distributors in India I have to fix this myself.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Nik

    nikhil,

I almost forgot to ask, I know some good people in Calcutta, are you anywhere near there? I'm trying to think of a way to get you your tweeter quickly, but I know how things can work in India. Is the drunk going to pay the bill?
