    Carver
    McCormack
    NAD
    Parasound
    Rotel

I have decided i don't think i want a muti channel amp,(i think) But space wise 3 or 4 stacked is alot of amps so for now a mix of multi and 2 channel amps would help.. I just really want some names which you have given me, any more names,
Oh and price wise, i can't dump 2k at one time on any equipment, we are talking from 200 - 350 on a 2 channel, and from 350-550 on a multi channel amp

Oh and specific model numbers of interest would be an added bonus, I have had a closed mind to only useing Integra and onkyo as that is what i started out with about 6-7 years ago so now i am venturing out on the amps.... still like my receiver though and don't want separetes thus far

Check out OUTLAW AUDIO . They have a 7 channel (770), 5 channel (750) and a mono block (200). They have gotten a lot of good reviews.

If you want maximum 'wattage for your cottage' in a 'smallish' package reasonable, check out the Carver m400a 'The Cube'. 201wpc in a very small (7x7x7 or some such) frame. They take up next to no room. Only drawback is the spring clips.

The Marantz M500 or m700 ( I think ) series of monos are also nice sounding, small amps.

    Rotel Model #'s
    The first number:
8 series is older, 9 series is old, 10 series is current. In other words.

    RB880 (older)
RB980 (old, most likely made in the mid-late 90's)
RB1070 (current model, and EXPENSIVE) heh

    Middle number:
This is the level of power and overall current that you will get. An RB976 is a step up from an RB956. And an RB990 has more power/current per channel than both.

    Last number:
If it ends in a 0 or 1, it's a 2ch amp. If it ends in a 3, 5, 6, or 8 it's a multi-channel amp matching that number. RB956 is an entry level 6 channel amp made in the mid 90's. An RB985 is a mid level 5 channel amp made in the mid-late 90's.

Makes sense I hope? This may not be acurate down to the tee, but it's good enough so that you'll get the idea.

I know most other mfgrs. use simmilar styles for their model numbers, but Rotel is just the one I am most fammiliar with (and interested in).

Oh yeah. You can get a Parasound HCA-855 right now for around $400 or $500 brand new. It's a recently discontinued 5ch amp rated at 80wpc all channels driven @ 8 ohms. The only reason it was discontinued is because all of Parasounds stuff is going THX.

not affiliated, just check it out - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=14973&item=1949081540

not actually, just future planning... I am selling my Integra M-504
to get a better suited amp for my setup, e-bay yields about 4-500.00 bucks for these, e-bayers love em i guess.. so then i will be looking for a new one to replace it.

I checked out the adcom stuff on ebay for quite a while and the 545's were going for around 175-200 545 II's 200-250. I think 545's were 100 watt/8ohms and 150 watt/4 ohms per. I am happy with my 545 II and since they are always available on ebay, adding more would be easy as long as funds are available.
