My first stereo system, bought in 1985 by the way, was Technics. I had their bottom of the line receiver, I believe it was something line an SA-350?? or something like that- 40 wpc. I kept it for about 6-7 years and then sold it to my brother. He ended up killing it by trying to use it to power a guitar I think. I also bought a Technics autoreverse cassette deck at the same time. Both pieces were like $200 or so apiece which was pretty serious change for me back then. I thought they were decent pieces of equipment. In fact compared to what my friends and family had it was high end. Compared to newer stuff they were probably not that great but that first system lives on in my memory.....here's to first systems :D

The made some nice 3way speaker and reciever/amp combos.
Those 15" ers would bump hard.
