Picking brains about sub setup

I have just about decided to add a psw-404 sub to my system. I just want to make sure that I have the optimum cabling hookup and the proper small/large/subwoofer settings on my Onkyo TX-SR600 receiver and the proper crossover settings on both receiver and subwoofer. Can someone enlighten?

Room placement is not an issue, since there is really only one place where a sub would fit.

Another question: when does bi-wiring become advantageous and what does that involve?

Thanks for any help.
Mains: Polk RC65i In-walls
Center: Polk CS400i atop TV
Sub: SVS pb12nsd/2
Surrounds: Polk RC55i In-walls
Receiver: Onkyo TX-SR600

Small - sub on using LFE output.

Actually it is a huge issue. Placement is very important. Having only one place to put it can seriously be killing the bass responce.
