Sounds like to me, the ban was a blessing in disguise.

That's why I don't frequent any other forum.

Though, if the e-mail is authentic, CJT should calm down. But, he wasn't banned for the e-mail, that was post banning.

Gotta agree Noel, I skimmed the rules and WOWZA!!! It basically says bow down to Gene and Tom and their whims or they will smite you. They couldn't pay me for my membership, I'd be banned within a week with the arbitrary and interpretive rules they set-up. Some people like having that type of control exhurted over them. Gene and Tom will take care of the flock.

    Well Dave,

I was over here reading a couple of threads (which I do from time to time), and came across this thread. Dorokusai in one of his posts asked for a link which was not provided by CJT, so I posted it. While logged on to Audioholics and reading that thread, I posted this thread over there. Didn't think it was such a big deal. And if you look over at the Audioholics thread it isn't a big deal, only over here.

Gene was feeling the heat from his own flock over there from those who wondered exactly why CJT was banned since the implication was that it happened because he was stomping on AH sponsored products.

Gene then posted the private email he got from CJT to the board to take the heat off.

I posted the Gene's response over here so that we could have BOTH sides of the story.

This thread should be deleted or at least locked.

As much as I wouldn't want to join AH's board, I don't want to see a virtual war started over silly **** like this.

On AVS forum you stated that a person saying something good about Polk speakers was a "fan boy" or something to that effect. If you don't like Polk Audio, why are you on the Polk forum.

    I was just wondering,

If you look at the thread, I gave a reason for my recommendation. The other guy gave a one line recommendation with no reason. Look at the thread and tell me that wasn't just a fanboy recommendation. He most likely doesn't even have any in-ceiling experience. Look in his profile, and see he owns Polk's.

Why am I here. Since your so inquisitive to why I'm here, and since you like doing research on my posts on other forums. You should know I own Polk speakers myself. Not that it's any of your business why I'm here. But since you where wondering, that's why. :D

I think Plato and Socrates asked asked the very same question: "Why are we here ?".

.....I'm not sure if they had CP in mind, though.

    Maybe they did.

They could have, you don't have any proof that they didn't !

Actually... it was Søren Kierkegaard who ultimately sought out the raison d'être of Club Polk. It is of no small note that he failed horribly in his quest...

Everybody has a like or dislike in how something sounds. It his or her opinion. What sounds good to someone and not to someone else is their opinion. I respect their opinion. You may like green peas and I don't. I don't need to call you something because you like green peas. I should not challenge your opinion because I like something you say you like. How am I suppose to know what equipment you have? You made a blanket statement about someone's option. I read on AVS forum constantly.

Did not mean to get you upset.

I was called "Polk Fanboy" so many times over on A/H. I was told more than once by the sheep and mods over there that A/H only reviews "good" products. If that isn't a hack at Polk, what is?

Gene posting my "private email" on the site for all to see to save his **** is just pathetic. What he does is say something sarcastic to get all the sheep laughing and on his side for a gang-up. Does it all the time to people he disagrees with. I did not know until now, after stevemazer said it, that he posted my email. My apologies steve for accusing you of being a mod. As I was banned, i could not access the forums even just to look.

This thread went too far now. It was not meant to start a war. I wanted to show what happened when I made a comparison between a product they don't support (Polk) and a product they do (Axiom). It was worthy of comment because many folks on A/H, and here, are interested in the Axiom-Polk comparison. They are in the same price class, so it is a valid comparison. It is more difficult to hear Axiom speakers as they are mail order only. I thought I could save some the time who think Axiom may be an an upgrade from Polk. I preferred Polk better by a long shot. Is that not allowed? I guess on A/H it is not. I was puzzled as to why Axiom gets such rave reviews when the Polk RTI series has had nothing and isn't even mentioned in their alternative choices in that class when clearly Polk is better. I laughed at the Axiom speakers when I saw and heard them because they are hyped so bloody much. I was smiling too knowing that what I had already, I preferred much better and the comparison was comforting to me.

Anyways, my banning was unjustified. I look forward to bringing something positive here to the Polk forums. I am past this now. I was choked for all of 5 minutes. Life has much more important things than A/V.

There's a big difference between forums. AH is a commercial internet AV mag with a fairly small membership of folks good and bad, some with agendas. The owners definitely have agendas...making money and selling ads being a primary. CP is an audio club, no agendas thankfully, more or less policed by it's members. It can be fun or can get bloody (which can be fun).

Whatever you post, just be sure you are respectful (Ha!) or at least amusing and it's all good. If not, the sticks come out and beat downs are in the offing.:D

    Hey Mazer,
No one asked you to frequent these boards last I checked....

So a few members ribbed you on post you did back when you first joined.

    Oh well. Life goes on.

The people here are nicer than most people you will ever meet. Ive met just about all the core members - GREAT guys.

They are mostly nice, particularly through their actions... but the people here certainly bark way way more than they bite. And sometimes the barking hurts my ears and ruins my audio experiences. :D

This thread is SOOOO 2007. Now we all wear silver jumpsuits and our speakers are made out of a electro-viscous clear jelly that pulses with our mind waves to play whatever song we're thinking about, which is virtually always a Lady Gaga track. 2009 is da bomb.

Well, I'm one of the guys that has less than 100 posts popping up... but only to say that I like my RTi 70s so much, that I'm going to hurt myself a bit to pick up some RTi 12s, there very thought of which makes me happy in my pants. I just wish I could afford a pair of Micro 4000s to replace the M&K V-125s that are replacing my PSW 450s (and only because they were A) really cheap, and B) so many on here speak so highly of sealed subs for music applications).

Personally, I found the AV University section to be useful, but don't really read the reviews or the forums on that site. But their article on speaker placement was pretty good, once I was able to add a few pointers I got from this site's forums to that article.
