New LSi15 2 Channel Rig - TUBE Help

My New 2 Channel Rig thus far:

Lsi15
Parasound Halo A23
BJC Interconnects
Yamaha HTR5890 Receiver - THIS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED . . .

I'm looking to get into the world of tubing, but I don't know where to begin. I want to spend somewhere between $300-$600 on a new preamp.

"Soundstage Vacuum Two Class A Tube Preamp" I can get this preamp for $297, but I'm afraid it's not good enough for my system. The seller has a system very similar to mine and says it was amazing. Any thoughts and especially suggestions regarding my upgrade forward.

    You should be able to pick-up a Rogue 66 or 66 Magnum at the high end of your price range. I run a Rogue 66 Magnum with Parasound HCA-1500 amps and it sounds pretty good! Keep in mind that the sound of a tubed pre can be altered pretty significantly by rolling in different tubes. So the tube pre you mentioned might be a good starting point, as long as the type of tubes it uses are plentiful so you can experiment.

    Dodd ELP, getting alot harder to find though

    I hear good things about Conrad Johnson tube pre's you see some at the higher end of your price range.

    your right on the need to replace that yammy, its definitly the weak link
