Another SDA/Amp Question

Sorry in advance for another of these questions, folks, but I'm looking to know if anyone has run SDA's (mine are early SDA-1's) with a Denon POA-2200/2400. The Denon manual doesn't speak to common ground issues; my gut tells me I'm OK, but thought I'd check the knowledge base before trying it.

    with the power off take a multi meter and check for continuity between the speaker grounds. Make sure there is no Resistance. Even better advice is to contact Polk customer service. The best costumer service around.

    I'm running my SDA-1C's off a Denon POA-2400. It is a common ground amp.

    I just unleashed the hounds of hell in my living room. Sumpin' didn't work, but at least the amp didn't fry. Think I'll give up on that set up.

    Check to make sure it's wired coreectly. Mine has been runing these for 18 years now, no problems, and the POA-2200 is the same amp, they just moved the level controls to the front on the POA-2400.

    Thanks to all for the advice. I triple checked everything before lighting it off. Then re-hooked everything and tried one more time with the same hellish result. Don't know where I'm going wrong, but I think I'll sit and scratch my head a long time on this one before I give it another go.

    Did you try hooking it up without the SDA cable?
    Also I have heard that some amps share the positive, and not the ground.
    Did you use a multi meter to test for continuity on the grounds of the speaker terminals on the amp? Make sure the amp is turned off when doing this test. Also test for continuity between the positives.

    WilliamM2- distortion and oscillating feedback at volume levels to wake the dead.

    ben62670- didn't try it without the interconnect. I'm sure it would have no problem, though. Multi-meter between grounds was 0.

    OK you have common ground. Now test your speakers without the interconnect cable. If you have no problems that way besides sound quaility then you may have a short in you IC cable.

    Thanks again- I'll get back to this experiment in a few days. I got a new Stingray integrated today for the main system, and I'm just going to enjoy it for a bit.
