In your home theater, what piece of equipment is the one that you are least likely to upgrade anytime soon?

    Tie, my new Panasonic A320 DVD player (new old stock), or my front soundstage...B&W 303's/LCR3.

    As for MOST likely...Rears (Ar Sequel, I know, I know, I was broke and had to get SOMETHING back there), or amp, Onkyo 474(?)

    Now you said home theater, so I'll stop there, and leave the other music system(s) out of it.....

    Least likely:
    -MIT speaker wire & cables (I've spent enough $$$ on that stuff)

    Most likely:
    -rear surround speakers (that will go unnamed)

    Most likely to purchase once I'm out of college:
    -a pimpin' 2-channel system

    least likely....probably the rears..R10's, big reason is that they are the only ones (that I like) that will fit followed by my sub (Paradigm PDR-10) because it is the best performer that I have found in my price range.....

    most likely......probably my reciever, a Denon-1801, eventually will be replaced hopefully with separate amps but that is LONG term.

    Doubt I'll ever replace my SDA-SRS 2.3 mains.

    Most likely choice for replacement are my rear surrounds. Although I really like my FX500's, I would love to have the FX1000's.

    Future additions after all that mess are a Sunfire Signature Sub and some better speaker cables.

    Won't-Sony 36" XBR450 in bedroom system, amazing picture.

    Will-Sony DVD-D330 to progressive scan DVD to go with TV, by end of week.

    Very suspicious behavior, wouldn'y you agree Troy? Cmon now Aaron, if you don't stand up and defend yourself, we are all going to assume you have those little bitty cubes sittin in the back of the room....

    We all start(ed) somewhere, don't be shy....if you ARE going to upgrade, perhaps someone here could use your 'starter set'.


    (see my psychology workings there Troy.....provide what appears to be a non-guilt situation, which could actually help others - ie 'hero factor')

    I will admit that I started out with the ultimate crapola Technics system until not all that long ago, and feel no deep dwelling shame.....hey we all got to start somewhere.

    I also know what it is like to be a poor college student.....

    YES , YES, and YES.

    I used to think my 50wpc Optimus receiver and matching 10 band EQ, hooked up to some $80 KLH 3-way's I got at best buy was 'livin large' my friend....

    And to this day, no one can bash that system, because it was MINE, and even though it's not much to speak of, it sure meant a lot to me, and I enjoyed it for quite a long time.

    I look back on it rather fondly, as it was a major stepping stone in my audio-growth. A friend of mine has it as his office system now, and I still like to check it out every now and then.

    Least likely - CS400i I'm happy with it; and from the experts who populate this site, I can do no better. Actually I haven't looked any further for a center channel.
    Most likely - My Sony 27" TV.
    Maybe - I'd like a smaller sound system; which I'm sure is one of the major draws to Bose; I have a small room and I would like to incorporate the sub into the front channel speakers.

    Hey, it took me until I was in my 20's before I learned to appreciate decent audio and later still before I could afford to actually accumulate some decent (although still not world class) equipment.

    Regardless of your rears, the rest of your system is probably better than 99% of the rest of college students your age. One exception being the guy I knew in college that had not one, but two sets of big ol' SDA's and some killer amps to run them....

    Most to replace:
    Up grade my Polk F/X 500i to F/X 1000i
    Up grade my Polk F/X RT to F/X 500i
    Replace my Pioneer Provision 55 Projection TV
    Immediately:
    Purchase the Monster Power HTS 5000
    Plug all of my subwoofers to the MC SW200

    seriously though. I'll probably keep my hk hk3370 for a while. and the speaks I get after my 55s
