I'll be seriously upgrading my system over the next year. My first purchase will be a subwoofer or new speakers. The Polk website says the PSW-450 is a good match for my SDA-2As. I'm going to assume that the PSW-404 is just as good a match.

First question - Will I get a noticeable bass improvement from this setup? The SDAs bass isn't too shabby now.

Second question - What about just saying "screw it" and picking up a set of RTi100s?

I bought the SDAs in 87 and they still sound good, but I'm getting the itch for new stuff.

I'll be testing some speakers soon, but I'm looking at the following combo: LSi9 - front, LSi7 - rear, PSW-404. (The smaller size of these speakers appeals to me. I would place them on stands.)

My most likely power source will be Denon 2802.

Thanks,
Alan

I'd think about looking at better amplification with your LSi's....

I'd definitely take the LSi's over the RTi's. That would be a pretty nice setup.

With the 4 ohm rating, I know the LSis can really work an amp. What would you guys recommend?

BTW, I going to audition receivers and speakers in a little bit.

Well I jumped in with both feet. I auditioned quite a bit of equipment todayand came home with a Yamaha RX-V2300 receiver and Panasonic DVD player. I have my system hooked up, although, I have some studying to do before I have it set up optimally (I had to have everything working before Buffy comes on TV!)

The receiver really breathed new life into the SDAs. I can't get over how good they sound and how loud they'll get.:p
