Crossover Description.

Hi all. I just wanted to ask. As long as I have tinkered with electronics, it has never been clear to me what the "order" is in a crossover config (1st order, 2nd order, 3rd order. etc). Can someone explian this to me? For example this crossover for my Polk Monitor 7b's.

Your crossovers consist of a 2nd order elecrical filter on the tweeter and a 2nd order on the woofer,but when it is combined with the drivers response the actual acoustical response may be closer to 4th order.
