Hi my name is Ben, and I am a polk junkie. I used to like infinities, but now I know better. I built some custom cabinets that are 6 feet tall, they have 4 mw6503's in parallel =2ohms, 2 sl2500 tweets, 2 10" passive radiators, a 12" powered sub in the bottom of the box, an Adcom amp gfa-555. I also have a pair of RTA15tl's. I have reached over 115 decibles C weighted nice and clean (I have to leave the room at that level because my ears distort at that level( it sounds nice and clean in the next room)). If I could mainline the mw6500 series I would. My friends think I have a sickness, I can't sleep, skip meals to study things like crossovers and such. Its 4am and I can't find where I should cross the tweets at to refine my crossover! Where are the specs for the individual woofers! The voices are telling me to add 4 more 6.5s! Then i could wire them for 4ohms, and buy another GFA-555 bride them both @850 watts each, my GRA-5400 for the tweets. My electronic crossover should be here anyday. That should help. Yes yes that would help. And why does Fred Flinston order the brontosauras chops when he knows every time they flip over his car?

Help, when will this madness stop! Is there a cure?
Ben

How do you post pics? and Jake how do they peerless tweets sound compared to the Polk's? can they handle the same kind of power?
I love listening to the music!!! Its not so much the loudness of the sixteen mid bass drivers and the 4 to 6 tweeters as it is the tingling of the music that penetrates your body. I know people who love their b&w's, nht's, and such; but you just can't describe the energy that multi driver arrays present even at a modest level. Did i just say modest? Am I maturing?

PS this immature kid is 36 going on 40 and 20 at the same time.

    1. We admitted we were powerless over our speaker addiction.

    2. Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

    3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of . . .

You came to the right place my son!!!!:D

    Welcome to Club Polk!

Lou was referring to Fred Flinstone, not you.

I don't remember anyone calling you an immature kid, either...just that you're in the sickness deep kid.

If you seen my 68 Ford bronco and myself you could easily picture me put my feet through the Floor to stop my motor vehicle :-).
I just received a copy of David Weems designing, building, and testing your own speaker system. Maybe I'll build another box just too test different theories in box design.
