Anyone listen to the DTS sampler disk from Polkfest? I just hooked up my gear last night and got true 5.1 surround going. Some good stuff on there, particuarly the part where it sends whirling sound around the speakers. Unfortunately, my neighbor called at 11:30 to request I turn it down....I'll probably sell it on Ebay when I get bored with it....;)

I've only listened to the music tracks and found the sound to be lackluster.

That was just a joke as we were specifically told NOT to resell it by Polk.

Troy, sound didn't seem bad to me. Keep in mind, I have multi-channel surround while I believe you are listening in two channel or not true surround.

I thought that too, however, took it to a friend's house up in Greenville last week and played it on his rig and it still sounded mediocre.

Maybe he needs some real gear! The NAD gear is particuarly manufactured to be musical first, above anything else, although it does movies, etc. in fine fashion. Who knows? I haven't had surround set up for over a year, so anything would probably sound good to me. The Eagles clip sounded pretty musical to me. I'll give it another go.

if it's DTS - Alive (aka DTS 10), it's junk. Not as bad as Dolby Digital's "The Dolby Experience" though. That thing sounds like complete ****, uses the worst clips from movies, video is VHS quality and even at free, I feel like I was overcharged.
Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

    Home Setup: Sony VPL-VW85 Projo, 92" Stewart Firehawk, Pioneer Elite SC-65, PS3, RTi12 fronts, CSi5, FXi6 rears, RTi6 surround backs, RTi4 height, MFW-15 Subwoofer.

Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener.
