RTI 150's decreased sound quality

Hello all, I am new to Club Polk
Last year I purchased a pair of Rti150's that sounded great when I bought them. I was running a Sony STR-DA3000ES. The speakers sounded excellent and I was very happy with them. About a month ago the sound quality decreased dramatically and became "muddy" and/or "muted". I had little (if any) response from the tweeters. I figured the underpowered receiver may have damaged the tweeters at higher volumes. I sent the tweeters back to Polk, which they promptly replaced. I just received the replacements and after installation, the sound quality is still bad. Any suggestions?? I miss the great sound I originally enjoyed from these speakers.

I am using them as a 2-channel set up for music only and now have replaced the Sony with NAD 272 amp, 162 pre-amp and 422 tuner.
Thanks for your assistance!

Check the crossover boards for continuity and damaged parts.
Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

Russ is probably right, but just in the interest of eliminating options, hook the speakers up to another reciever/amp and see if they sound the same. there is a small chance its the reciever itself. (really small)

    Russ
Forgive my ignorance, but do I access the crossover boards through the back of these cabinets?
