WTB 45 RPM Records on the cheap...

Has anyone got some 45 RPM 7" records they would like to dump, on the cheap? Just aquired an old school record player and need a stack of singles to play with it. Should be in reasonable condition. 70's rock and pop a plus but 80's and 90's ok too. Not much into 50's or 60's music or country. What will I find next... :)

    Gimme a week or two- I bought about 2500 of 'em in bulk for like $50 awhile back and never got around to sorting out the dups, etc. First on my project list: changing out the starter in my '94 corolla. Second: dealing with all those 45's.

    I'm sure you're aware that if you have any that are still in "picture sleeves" the sleeves are worth more than the records are.

    Might want to be on the lookout for Elvis on Sun Records too.

    Cool! 2500? Wow, thats a lot of 45's! I'm thinking if you stacked those side by side there would be maybe 15 feet of records... I would love to have "some" of the dups or whatever.

    Yep- got a whole mess of picture sleeves (with matching records, even!). I think there's an elvis sun or two in there. Beat all to hell, IRRC. Basically, I pulled out a few handfulls, figured it was worth it, then had to move all the **** to the new place and haven't touched them since.

    It's about 17 feet if they were stacked - a little over 9 boxes that printer paper comes in... they hold 2 stackes 8.5 by 11 paper, so I can put 22 inches worth in a box. Anyhow, I usually put them on the technics 1200. Most 12" singles are 45 rpm, so the technics handles them quite nicely. I also have a stanton that'll do 78rpm, but it's on loan to a friend at the moment.

    Out of all the picture sleeves I ever saw, I thought The Stones dressed up as old ladies on "Have You Seen Your Mother Baby, Standing In The Shadows?" was the absolute best.
