Alright guys! Looks like I'll have tubes from source to amplification.

I have a sleeper tubed CD player coming real soon. Still pretty much unknown in North America. They just got distributors in the US and Canada recently. A small company trying to break into the North American high end market. I've already heard very positive things about this unit from a few forums. One of them being a headphone forum.

Anyways, the tubed output consists of two 12AU7. It has both SS and tube output and according to the company's website, the two outputs are descrete.

The player is a beauty and weighs in at just over 20 lbs.

I'll post pics and first impressions when it gets here. I'm effin juiced!:D

    Bliss,
Congrats man! That cdp should take your rig to a new level. Let us know what it's like once you have time to play.

    JD,
It's not switchable. There are seperate RCA outs for op-amps and tubes. Yup, it's Chinese. Not Sheng Ya or Shanling. Never heard of this brand until I did more reasearch. I'll surprise you guys with pics once it arrives. Should be here fast. Express shipping from Hong Kong.

Cayin CDT-15A? This is quite popular in Europe and has rave reviews. I auditioned the tube-only 17A while I was in HK last month, loved it. Can't wait to see the pictures .....

So, I'm telling Troy about this Thai place that I'm going to take him and the lovely Wendi to when they come up. Well, the place usually stays open until 10 on weekdays and later on weekends, but the night they arrive the effer closed early! We end up eating in some crappy seafood joint. Next time bro, next time.

It certainly has killer looks....hopefully the sound will match.

That is a sweet looking deck. Unfortunately 6moons didn't think too much of their top CD player, the Leonardo:
    http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/original/original.html

On the up side, Srajan's opinions probably aren't the final word on sound quality (his opinions on certain headphones seem odd to me). At least this guy though very differently about the same Original CD player:

I also have been looking for a tubed CD player. I found two units that I really like. The Original A8t and the Bada HD22 US version. The Bada can be seen at www.hificlassifieds.com/index.php?a=2&b=674 Seems to be built very well. Has two massive transformers and Solen caps at the power supply and at the tube output. Can't wait to here your review of the A8t!
