rewireing the speaker

i dont know if ne of ya'll have thought of this...but if you were to reqire that pencil lead wire inside our speakers...it could make one heck of a difference...and once again im bored, just a thought

    Yes, most of us have pondered that question, and some have performed this modification, but it's pretty much been agreed on that the runs are so short inside the cabinet, that the don't make much of a difference. The distance from the binding posts to the driver is very short in comparasion to the distance from the amp to the speaker, so of course it makes sense to use good wire there. If the small guage wire made that much of a difference, and the quality suffered so much, then i'm sure polk would have remedied the situation. It didn't make much of a difference, so they kept costs down by using a cheaper wire.

    what about updating the components? Polyproplene Caps & Iron Core inductors? what does this do to the resistance of the network?
