I've got these coming in the mail, click image for full info.

Parts Express Dayton stands.
Anyone using these with RTi6's? They looked decent enough.

I got the medium mass stands, and they would be more than enough for the RTi6's. they hold the LSi9 and RT55's (35lbs each) with no probs at all. I was going to get the high mass, but figured they would be overkill, I was right.
overkill aint a bad thing though, you can put nearly whatever the hell you want on those stands your getting with no worries. look cool too. mass load those things and a car could hit them and your speakers will still be standing

Ah good, so they should be as heavy as they looked.
It's not so much cars as nieces and nephews that they need to hold up against.
I never actually thought about another aspect. This may have been a subconscious choice so that I buy stands that cause me to wonder what a bigger, heavier set of speakers would look like on them.
Can't wait until it all gets here, will finally have full 5.1 setup.Harman Kardon AVR-435 Receiver

fill em with leadshot, then maybe use that blue tack stuff to put the speaker on top instead of the spikes (easier on the speaks, and actually more stable from what I heard, preety much eliminates kids knocking them over, unless they intentionally do it

Yeah, some resistance to accidents is enough.
My RM3000's are on top of very narrow 1/2" tube stands with a 2" square top platform. I'm a hazard to my own speakers with stands like this. They are nearly invisible in the room though.
I'm going to lose my mind this week. I've got audio toys in the mail and I'm also waiting on the final stage of a job interview. I've going to give myself an anxiety disorder.Harman Kardon AVR-435 Receiver

I got the RTi6's and the Dayton stands all setup.
The Dayton stands are fantastic, very very solid, I don't think I'll bother filling them with anything for ballast.
The stands are plenty large enough on top for the RTi6's and the small spikes on the top platforms just fit the RTi6 dimensions enough to bite the cabinets and hold them in place perfectly. I would estimate there is 3/8" overlap of the support platform on either side of the RTi6's and the RTi's overlap front to back a few inches. Very stably balanced and supported.
From the pic you can't see it very well, but the shiny caps on the feet are a cheesy brass tone. You can't really tell much from a few feet away, but I hate most anything gold-tone so they will likely get some flat black paint at some point.
One negative is that these stands don't have cable management provision. I'm running 12ga cables and I'll likely drill/sawzall myself some ports to hide them better if the motivational mood strikes. The support columns are very sturdy steel so drilling out a 1/2" hole to run cables up the column won't hurt them.Harman Kardon AVR-435 Receiver
