anthem mca 20

there is an Anthem mca 20 on audiogon local to me for 675.00. I'm intrigued, since I recently got an Anthem pre. seems to be around 200 into 8 ohms and 350 in 4 ohms. any thoughts on this amp, especially the price from the more experienced out there. this would replace (or compete with) my Carver m4.0 amp.

will be driving LSi9's, and Carver amazings down the road if I get it.

    Cant say about the amp, never heard that one, just Anthem receivers which were above the usual entries and of course they should be.

    Is there something about the Carver you find lacking? Or is just time to scratch the itch? They would be cool to get together and I would assume good synergy.

    yeah, its pretty much the itch I guess. That and the chance to get a matching amp to my pre. I had the Carver for a while and want to see what a different amp will do to my set up. Saw this local on the 'gon, so I figure I would at least check with you guys.

    I think I heard Russ has some stuff he's posting soon, maybe I'll wait to see what he's got :D

    ohskigod, I have a Anthem MCA 20 and MCA 30 amps. I run the off a Yamaha 2400 receiver. Am very happy with them. Very clean power, not colorized. I biamp the MCA 20 to my front Left and Right's. I use the MCA 30 to my center channel and also the left and rights. Excellent power will work great with your LSi 9's. Get it!
