I'm going to bid on this at the end (if it doesn't go much higher) since my brother can pick them up for me.

I'm certainly not trying to trick anyone here. I bidded up to $75. From what the S&H fees are thats $155. That was what I was going to spend. But if I can pick them up at $156, give me a break here. Its not like I said I'm shutting it down at $75 then bid all the way up to $90. I didnt know some of you could be tricked over 1 dollar.

Nope. I didn't think they were worth it, all things considered. I would either have to wait for a few months to get them or have him ship them DHL, which would have been close to $40 for the pair. I also passed on a pair of Monitor 10s w/stands that were near him for only $100. Some guy on AK in Grand Rapids got that pair and was the only bidder at $100.

I'm patient. Sooner or later, something will show up near me. (I'm still trying to work out something on that pair of RTA 12B)

It wasn't me. I bought a pair of RT7s for $90 and still have enough to buy the 7As.

I'm OK for a while or until a primo pair turns up that the world does not know about.

Yeah, they are all at the same drop-off store in Oregon City. THREE pairs of early Monitor 5s and a pair of Monitor 4, along with a few other pairs of vintage speakers. I bet there was some guy hoarding them in his attic or something who kicked the bucket and now his family is selling them off.

Well you all saw the shipping charge for the other pair of 7B's. $80... These are only $39. I'm willing to pay extra for the insurance and maybe priority or overnight. The shipping is with DHL, I hope DHL has those options. I emailed ebiz and requested other shipping options. Waiting for thier reply.

You are better off with DHL. Insurance should be included. DHL is pretty quick too. I wouldn't worry about upgrading anything.

I've been working at a thrift shop near me (which benefits wayward kids), helping them move from one location to another. On Sunday, somebody brought in a pair of mint Monitor 7's. Guess what they paid me for my labor that day.

I have a pilot at work that's been bugging me to nail a pair of these for him. Took awhile, but he'll get them. Little does he know he'll be writing a $100 check for them. He can either give the check to me, or just make it out to my daughters old school. Every dime I earn from this hobby will be donated to that school in her memory. Every dime.

These are plain vanilla Model 7's. No fuse protection or anything. I did find a pair of Monitor 7 somethings about a year ago, and they were fused. They weren't living room presentable though, so Martin the pilot was not the recipient. I sold them to some other guy.

Yes and no on that one Troy. Yeah, there is that 'something' in the air again (a little dab?) - but on the other hand, I'm keeping the blinds closed, and all doors tightly locked now.

Yep, those "drop off" stores tend to charge more for shipping as it a revenue center for them. Most of these place are franchises and can get discounts through the corporate office with UPS, etc. One of the other ways to make money is to jack up the shipping price. I looked into one of these franchises. The 3 places to generate income were the commission on the listed item, shipping/packing fees, and networking to find close-out/discontinued, big lot items to sell for a profit.

Hi all again. Now that I'm getting the 7b's to go along with my monitor 4's, I'm thinking of selling my 4 month old monitor 40's. Would $120 - $140 for the pair be too much to ask? They are practically brand new. I just dont have the box.
