I'm selling my VTL TL 2.5 tube pre amp. I'd rate it a 8/10 on the Audiogon scale for age only and the fact that the remote is missing one little rubber foot that is easily replaced. This is a killer pre amp, but I've decided to go in a different direction with this rig. Includes all the original packing material, box, manual/spec sheet, detachable power cord and remote.

Here's a link to VTL's site with a picture, http://www.vtl.com/pages/preamplifiers.html

These are selling on Audiogon for $900-$950, I only want what I've got in it, SOLD. Great tube pre amp for a very reasonable price.

USPS Money Order or check if I know you really well.

Thanks for looking!

I forgot to mention that it has a HT pass-thru.

I just got it :D ,, not to ignore your question,,, I said that I was not going to look at this thread again  I'm loving this pre and I have not begun to exp. with tubes, got some BB's on the way. Now to answer you question; just go ahead and buy F-1's VTL, I paid a little less than he is asking for his, and truth be known, F-1 helped me get into tubes via e-mail consultations and various posts, while I have never met him, he has not steered me wrong, and given the opportunity of meeting him, would certainly shake his hand and thank him for the advice. I'm currently waiting on a Belles 350a thru my AI and 1c's. I could go on, but I'll stop with the pontification,,that pre does look good, and it's priced "right",,I certainly hope someone picks it up,before I rationalize replacing the L-1 with it, :) I've got a "tube monkey" on my back. :D:D

I've already PM'd F1nut about the VTL. after looking at the specs the gain is probably too high for my amp so I reluctantly passed. The AI L1 has the adjustable gain knobs which would suit me very well... I've kinda been looking for an AI preamp, since they're supposed to be a fantastic match with McCormack amps.

I'm pretty happy with my rig now, so I don't need anything new... someday I'll get tubes in my system, but right now I don't feel that I need them.

I know, I was pissed at him for not taking me over to hear it(didn't know he was in the middle of a move at the time), but now I'm almost glad he didn't let me hear it. I spend too much on gear as it is, I really don't need to start buying hi-end MF gear. Maybe some day after the kids are all grown up and out of the house and the Viper is in the garage.

I was fairly happy with my system until I first heard it. He has all my tube quality plus a few hundred extra watts. The MF trivista stuff is something special. I couldn't enjoy my system for quite some time afterwards. I finally figured out I was trying to listen too loud. Funny how one session can twist your expectations. It was like being at a live performance. Really. We all like to think stuff sounds live but when it really does, it blows you away. Effer! :)

I don't know about all that. I mean it's decent rig, but there is always something better.

Oh yeah Chuck, I'm still waiting on that invite. :)

There is stellar. Then again, there is STELLAR!!! Pretty much we have the same sound. Jesse gets the same sound with more power though. Kinda ho hum listening to 95db when you are used to 125db with the same quality and character. :)
