splicing speaker wire

Is there any special method to be used when splicing (soldering) 2, 12 gauge copper speaker wires? thanks.

Not really, I would slip a piece of shrink wrap over it though.

Use both flux and solder then apply heat to the wire not the solder....and dont let it drip on you.

On the very first thing I soldered with my new soldering iron I managed to do that within five minutes of playing with it. Damn that hurt :mad: Also try not to put your hand in the drips after they fall and hit the ground / table... again... damn that hurtPolknPepsi wrote:....and dont let it drip on you.
